In Saraste all the participants can dive into a diverse scout program. There are programs offered to all age groups and of course for adults as well. There is a team called K-15 who is responsible for the program and camp experience for explorers, rovers and adults. They also provide this leader program that is moving around the camp brightening up our everyday camp days. There is also a training, camp church, awesome age group programs, visiting day, building, internationality and loads of other things.
Life at the camp
There are four subcamps: Kajo, Hämy, Humu and Syvi. In every subcamp there are villages and in every village subunits.
Valleys
In Saraste there are six program valleys where trackers (12-15 years old) and explorers (15-17 years old) can join. Of course campers over 15 can get pieces from each valley in the K-15 program and also now and then they can join the Service Team.
One of the valleys will be the Chill-out-Valley (fin. Chilli-laakso) where the time is offered to do your own troop’s or group’s camp traditions. During this valley there is also an opportunity to use the camps own program but the most of it will be on troop’s or subunit’s hands. The other valleys are Crazy Valley (Kreisi-laakso), Star Valley (Stara-laakso), Corpus Valley (Kroppa-laakso), The Helsinki Valley, Forest Valley (Skutsi-laakso) and Water Valley (Woda-laakso).
Scout competition
Right in the beginning of the camp there is a scouting competition for one day. In the competition your team can test your scouting skills and get into the exciting scouting competition spirit.
Mutual programs
The whole camp gets together four times during the camp, for the opening ceremony, midway bonfire, Metal mass, and the closing ceremony. There is going to be a bon fire atmosphere in a large scale, funny and colorful shows, good music, and scouting memories that you will remember for a long time.
Lilies
Lilies take 24 hour and you have to pick up three most interesting lilies forehand. There are different kinds of themes.
Super Lily The world needs superheroes, can you hear it calling? In the Superlily you have the opportunity to spend superhero life in the forest and fight against evil. Pack your cape with you and prepare.
Hike Lily Does your heart desire in to the woods? Here you can experience forest adventures and compete with yourself.
Princess or Prince Lily Do you want glamour in your camp life? All the blue-blooded, come to practise your princess or prince skills.
Playing Lily Can you play 100 games in 24 hours? This is the lily for you, if you love to play games.
Sport Lily Come and join the Saraste Olympic Games! You may experience some new sports but with good attitude and sport spirit you will manage.
Music Lily There is a rhythm inside you? In the Music Lily you will be jamming with new friends. A scout camp is nothing without music, so take your drum sticks with you and join us.
Häme Lily Häme is the district where Saraste is held. Now there is a chance to get to know scouts and guides from Häme.
BFF Lily Best Friends Forever. Don’t you have enough time to spend with your best friend? Here you can share everything, good and bad things, with your best friend.
Sisu Lily Sisu scout means handicapped or disabled person. New views to camp life, come and feel how do you manage normal camp day when you are blind or deaf.
Sleeping bag Lily Do you have troubles to get up in the morning? Don’t worry, in this Lily you are spending 24 hours in your sleeping bag. How are you going to survive your everyday-life in your sleeping bag?
